Miuccia Prada is the co-CEO and lead designer of the Italian handbag and fashion empire @prada, which was founded in 1913 by her grandfather. Her educational background included schooling in mime and a doctorate in political science. She was an ardent feminist and an heir to a company that originally made luggage and travel baggage for the elite. In 1977, she and her siblings Albert and Marina inherited the company. In the same year, she met her husband Bertelli, who ran a luxury leather company at the time and joined Prada. Miuccia Prada decided to work on her own line of practical bags, with the most simplistic background. Her line of bags sold out, making Prada a brand that sets its own fashion rules and standards for originality.
