Indian designer Saloni Lodha realised her dream of creating a clothing brand that would take the rich heritage she grew up in and blend it with the global, nomadic life she was living in the year 2008. By 2011, she launched her eponymous womenswear label SALONI.
She draws her inspiration from her childhood spent surrounded by the vivid colours of her grandmother's sarees and the cherished memories of summers spent visiting Jain temples on family holidays in Rajasthan. It is this sensibility, coupled with her busy day-to-day life as a mother with offices in Hong Kong and London, that motivates her to create a wardrobe that empowers women to experience the joy of living in different hues.
Today, she counts the likes of Samantha Cameron, wife of the British prime minister, Naomi Watts and the model Helena Christensen among the women she has dressed.
