James Wan is an Australian director, producer, and screen writer best known as the creator of Billy The Puppet and director of the horror film Saw (2004). His first feature film Stygian won the laurel of "Best Guerrilla Film" at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival (MUFF) in year 2000. In 2013, Wan worked with Universal Pictures to direct the seventh installment of The Fast and the Furiousfranchise. Soon after in 2014, he launched his own production company by the name of Atomic Monster Productions, at New Line Cinema. His company develops and produces films in the genres of comedy, horror, and science fiction; The Conjuring 2 and Lights Out being some fine examples. This was followed by him directing the film Demonic (2017), after which he produced Annabelle. He also produced the prequel film Annabelle: Creation, released in 2017. He co-wrote the story of The Nun (2018) along side Gary Dauberman. His future films include the third Annabellefilm, which is scheduled for release in July 2019, and Aquaman, slated for release in December 2018 as the sixth installment of the DC Extended Universe.
